Give Feedback with Voice Typing

A few months ago I facilitated a workshop titled, “Digital Workflow: Collecting & Providing Feedback.” Teachers explored digital methods for giving students effective and efficient feedback. One of the activities included using the Google Docs: Voice Typing tool. We learned the average speed of handwritten notes is 22-31 words per minute (wpm); the average computer user can type about 35-40 wpm, but the average spoken word is 100-150 wpm. You may be able to provide more timely and meaningful feedback via voice typing. Watch the video below to see a short demonstration.
